We have up to 15 trained trekking boys. Walk with one of our beautiful alpacas on an unforgettable experience! Wander past our ponds and through our small woodland on an hour long on farm experience. Our Alpaca Trekking Experiences are held at 11am and 1:30pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
The experience will start with a safety brief and meeting your alpaca. We have 7 trained trekking boys and experienced guides who will walk with you answering questions and assisting throughout the walk. The walk will last around an hour with some stops to feed the alpacas, breathe in the countryside and take plenty of pictures.

We did the trek experience and I would 1000% recommend it, it was great to spend time getting to know our alpacas as well as being able to feed them and walk them through the woods. Requirements
- You must be moderately fit – walking with a large animal around uneven ground
- Trekking will take place in all weather conditions unless unfit for the alpacas
- Wear appropriate clothing and footwear, suitable for uneven ground (can be muddy). Although our farmland is flat, it is always a bit breezy here. No umbrellas please
- Our walk is unsuitable for buggies/pushchairs & wheelchairs/walking aids
- Alpaca Trekking whilst pregnant – there are some risks involved, please contact us.
13+ can lead an alpaca on their own, an adult (18+) must accompany children age 16 and under
8-12 lead an alpaca with an accompanying adult (double lead)
Under 8’s unfortunately cannot join Trekking however, we have a special mini experience for them
Alpaca food is included and will be handed out throughout the trek.
If you cancel your booking at any time you will not receive a refund under normal circumstances. We can transfer your experience to an alternative date subject to availability.
If JandJ Alpacas cancel your booking, i.e. if we deem the weather to be un-suitable or conditions too dangerous to trek, we will offer you an alternative date or a credit note for your experience. In some circumstances we may give you a full refund of your purchase, this is the discretion of management.

Alpaca Trekking Experience followed by Afternoon Tea
After a relaxing hour wandering with our gorgeous alpacas, why not enjoy a yummy afternoon tea with the view of our mums and cria paddock. Our afternoon teas include a selection of sandwiches, crisps, homemade scone with cream and jam, a selection of delicious cakes and a mini alpaca cookie!
£18 per adult and £11 per child – 24 hours notice required, please advise us of any dietary requirements. Contact us to book!
Accessibility
At JandJ Alpacas, our close-up Alpaca Experiences are not fully accessible, due to the nature of the alpacas. However, we believe there is always a way to get up close and see these beautiful animals. We offer private experiences for those that are unable or unsure of our Meet & Greets and Alpaca Trekking Experiences, whether it is meeting a couple of alpacas on our gravel area, or a shorter trek, please get in contact to book.
Parking is available for cars, motorcycles, minibuses and coaches, including disabled parking. We are happy for you to pull up at the side of the ramp to the main entrance to drop off, then park up.
We have an accessible loo separate to the coffee shop, with baby changing.
There is a flat entrance to our outdoor seating via the right-hand side of the coffee shop.
Our quieter times of the day are 10am to 11am, and 3pm to 4pm/5pm.
